Manon Rheaume (born February 24, 1972) is a Canadian goaltender and Olympic       
silver medalist who was the first woman to play in the NHL, having played in two 
exhibition games for the Tampa Bay Lightning.                                     
                                                                                 
Manon Rheaume was born in Lac Beauport, Quebec, Canada to Nicole and Pierre       
Rheaume. She has one older brother, Martin, and one younger, Pascal, who was a   
center for NHL's Phoenix Coyotes.                                                 
                                                                                 
She was signed as a free agent to Tampa Bay Lightning and played two pre-season   
games against the St. Louis Blues in the 1992 preseason and the Boston Bruins in 
the 1993 preseason. She later played for various minor league hockey teams and   
on the Canadian silver-medal winning Olympic hockey team. While in Atlanta,       
Manon wrote her autobiography - Manon: Alone In Front Of The Net.                 
                                                                                 
Manon Rheaume was married in June 1998 and has two sons.
