BRAD RENFRO

Bad boy Brad Renfro burst onto the acting scene just a few short years ago and hasn’t stopped impressing audiences around the world ever since. The young heartthrob has demonstrated a strong talent for the acting craft which has garnered him legions of devoted fans.

Renfro was born in Knoxville Tennessee on July 25th, 1982, where he lived with his grandmother after his parents’ divorce. His humble beginnings were short lived however as, at a young age he was discovered by director Joel Schumacher and cast immediately in his first major motion picture, The Client. With no previous acting experience he seemed an odd choice for the starring role. However it was this very lack of experience that captivated the media’s attention. They wanted to know just who was this smalltown boy prodigy?

Renfro has starred alongside some of Hollywood’s hottest. He has appeared with Susan Surandon, Dustin Hoffman, Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Kevin Bacon. In Sleepers he played a young Brad Pitt. Brad (Renfro not Pitt) was becoming one of Hollywood’s most desirable young actors and was on many a director’s A-List.

As well as being a fan favorite Renfro gained much critical acceptance. He wowed them with his heartfelt and touching role in The Cure and made us laugh in Tom and Huck. Brad won "The Hollywood Reporter’s Young Star Award" in 1995 and was nominated as one of People Magazine’s "Top 30 Under 30".

Recently however, events took a turn for the worse. Shortly before the release of Apt Pupil, in which he starred, a scandal arose after he was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana. He was also found in possession of cocaine. The bad boy had gotten a little too bad. Surprisingly, the media did not give the story much attention, apparently they had tired of Brad in the midst of Leonardo DiCaprio madness. We will have to wait and see whether this bright young talent will be able to get his act together and stage a come back.
