Ray Liotta segued from Hannibal (2001) to starring in Nick Cassavetes’ John Q (2001) with Denzel Washington and Robert Duvall. He recently starred with Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in Blow (2001) directed by Ted Demme. He will next be seen in MGM’s comedy Heartbreakers and in the independent Rumor of Angels (2000).

       

Liotta has also starred as Frank Sinatra in the critically acclaimed television movie Rat Pack, The (1998), directed by Rob Cohen. The HBO feature earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Made-for-TV Movie. Liotta also starred in Phoenix (1998) with Anjelica Houston and Anthony LaPaglia and in the ensemble drama Copland opposite Sylvester Stallone, Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel.

       

Since his film debut as an ex-con crashing a high school reunion in Something Wild (1986), which earned him a Best Actor Award from the Boston Film Critics and a Golden Globe nomination in the same category, Liotta has starred in Dominick and Eugene (1988) with Tom Hulse, as Shoeless Joe Jackson in the Oscar nominated Field of Dreams (1989), in Corrina, Corrina (1994) opposite Whoopi Goldberg and Paul Schrader’s Forever Mine (1999) with Gretchen Mol and Joseph Fiennes.
  His role in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award nominated Goodfellas (1990) rocketed him to another level of stardom.

       

Among Liotta’s other major film credits are Unlawful Entry (1992), Turbulence (1997), Muppets from Space (1999), Unforgettable (1996), Operation: Dumbo Drop (1995), No Escape (1994) and Article 99 (1992).

       

A native of New Jersey, Liotta began acting at the University of Miami. After earning his bachelor of fine arts degree, Liotta moved to New York City where he worked as a bartender for the Shubert Organization theaters before landing a role on the NBC daytime drama “Another World.”

       

Liotta currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, infant daughter and five dogs.
