BHAGWAN RAJNEESH - OSHO
       

Bhagwan Rajneesh was born on December 11, 1931, in Kuchwada, a small village in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Central India. Since his childhood, he was an independent and rebillious child who questioned all social, religious and philosophical beliefs.

       

He attained enlightenment at the age of twenty one on March 21, 1953. In 1956, Rajneesh, also known as Osho, received his post graduation degree from the University of Sagar with First Class Honours in philosophy. In the next year he was appointed as a professor at the University of Jabalpur.

       

His passion for raising human consciousness compelled him to leave his academic job. Then he started travelling throughout India and addressed numerous gatherings. In 1970, he introduced his revolutionary meditation with a period of uninhibited movement and catharsis, followed by period of silence and stillness. Osho said that different people need different methods to find inner peace. He died on January 19,1990.
