Sant Ajaib Singh ji Maharaj was a great saint. He was born on September 11, 1926 , at Bhatinda district in Punjab . His mother died giving birth to him and his father died a few days later. He was brought up by his great uncle and his wife. Sant ji has told many tales from his own life experiences in the discourses and conversations included in the book ‘Streams in the Desert’.

       

His search for truth began when he was five years old. He used to get up early in the morning and read the writings of Guru Nanak. He was in search of a true guru. Later he met his ultimate guru, Sant Kirpal Singh of Delhi . In the early 1940’s, Ajaib Singh was drafted into the army, where he served for approximately seven years and also did duty in Germany . He was discharged from the army in the late 1940s. His family had plans for him, involving marriage and inheriting property. But he did not marry and was designated a village out caste. Then he spent his whole life in spiritual pursuits.
