GREG LOUGANIS (1960 - )
Diver, born in El Cajon, California, USA. In the 1983 world championships, his routine won him more than 700 points for his 11 dives, the first man to achieve such a score.
He was Olympic champion (1984, 1988, when he became the first man to win golds in both springboard and platform events at successive Games), platform world champion (1978, 1982, 1986), and springboard champion (1982, 1986). In 1984 he won the Sullivan Award as America’s best athlete of the year. In 1995 he revealed he had AIDS.
